Buyer Testimonials

I received the GLF-125 Rangefinder for Christmas. I was easily able to connect to my laptop for setting up the unit and download multiple golf courses. I bought the "one time provide" to have unlimited downloads. I play a lot of different courses in a number of states and it created sense for me to get the unlimited rather than spend for them 1 at a time. I've applied the unit on two distinct courses for 3 rounds and I love it. It responds quickly to distance modifications and I am in a position to quickly select the course where I am playing. I do not use the belt clip as it looks like it would easily slide off and I do not want to shed this tool.

I wanted an inexpensive device that would speed up my play by giving me yardages to the front, back and center of the green so I would not have to spend time searching for fairway yardage markers. This device does that, and it is supposed to be able to measure the distance of your shots if you set it up for that rather than yardage to the green, but I have not employed that feature. It agrees with a playing partner's significantly more high-priced GPS, or they are exceptionally close. There is no difficulty reading the numbers, and it is undoubtedly helpful to really feel confident of the yardage and not be standing more than a shot second guessing club selection. I like that it uses replaceable batteries, as I require not be concerned about it losing it really is charge for the duration of the round.
Often, but rarely, it is a bit slow to register the appropriate yardage--I do not know if that is a general trait of GPS units or not. Also, though it adjustments to the subsequent hole automatically as you move from green to tee, if there is not sufficient distance in between green and tee you will need to don't forget to advance the gps your self--no big dilemma at all, as the necessity will be apparent when you check the yardage for your next shot. One complaint I can picture some getting is that it fees $5.00 per course to add courses beyond the five included free, but there is an "unlimited" solution for $29.95 for those who play several distinct courses.
The only other evaluation I have read on this item stated that it had to be turned off then back on when you wished to play the second nine of eighteen holes--and it was stated that the manufacturer confirmed this. Nonetheless, it is not necessary to turn the device off. If you press the off button the moment and do not hold it down, it will permit the choice of choosing the second nine with the up/down buttons.
The GolfDigest GLF-125 was the least costly GPS I could find when I purchased it a year ago. I have not compared this device with any other inexpensive, basic GPS units, so there may perhaps be much better items readily available in or close to this cost range. I cannot speak of its lengthy term durability, but I made use of it for 30 to 35 rounds this year, and, for my purposes, I am pretty satisfied with it. And so are my playing partners, who appreciate how it has increased the speed of my play.
